The migration is back on track, well, let’s just say that it stopped choking on the 30Gb plug of emails that some users have in their accounts. I have an email storage file on my laptop that dates back some 15 years and that is only at 4Gb in size. We will address the excessively large email accounts next, but right now it is the server migration.
We have all the data moved, we are transferring IP addresses and then binding them to the new server. This process will take each site down for less than 30 seconds. Then it will be time to move the firewall and licenses over and then clean up.
BTW, we kept the name of Dixie for this server as the last time we changed names on a server, it caused issues with some websites. Lesson learned 🙂
